Pero hace ocho meses, la situaci\u00f3n de esta ni\u00f1a era muy distinta.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Anyeli y su familia viven en Palencia, Guatemala. Es un pueblo monta\u00f1oso con carreteras en su mayor\u00eda de tierra. La agricultura es su principal medio de vida. Como el \u00e9xito de la agricultura puede depender de muchos factores, muchos miembros de la comunidad no tienen ingresos estables.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>La familia de Anyeli no es diferente. Su madre, Aura, y su padre, Gilmar, tienen tres hijas adem\u00e1s de Anyeli. Hacen lo que pueden, pero alimentar a sus hijos siempre ha sido dif\u00edcil.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Anyeli naci\u00f3 prematura y, por mucho que Aura la alimentara, no ganaba peso. Afortunadamente, la familia pudo recurrir a un programa de Feed the Children que acababa de ponerse en marcha en su comunidad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\"Cuando ten\u00eda tres meses, la llev\u00e9 a una cl\u00ednica de control del crecimiento de Feed the Children. Me dijeron que ten\u00eda bajo peso y que corr\u00eda riesgo de desnutrici\u00f3n aguda\", cuenta Aura.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Fue una noticia aterradora.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Lo que Aura no sab\u00eda en ese momento era la ayuda que ella y Anyeli iban a recibir, gracias a donantes como usted. El programa Feed the Children ofreci\u00f3 servicios integrales, no solo en ese momento, sino durante meses.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>En primer lugar, Anyeli recibi\u00f3 un suplemento alimentario vital para ni\u00f1os desnutridos. La familia tambi\u00e9n recibi\u00f3 revisiones peri\u00f3dicas en la cl\u00ednica y en su casa para seguir de cerca la recuperaci\u00f3n de Anyeli.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-5\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Anyeli en brazos de su madre con un miembro de &quot;feed the children&quot;.\" class=\"img-fluid\" src=\"https:\/\/www.feedthechildren.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/anyeli-with-her-mother.jpg\"><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>La ayuda no fue s\u00f3lo para la peque\u00f1a Anyeli. Aura y Gilmar recibieron educaci\u00f3n sobre nutrici\u00f3n, higiene y finanzas. Adem\u00e1s, hubo asistencia para el resto de los ni\u00f1os de su familia.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\"Han recibido apoyo en la escuela con mochilas y material escolar. Tambi\u00e9n reciben un almuerzo caliente todos los d\u00edas. Tambi\u00e9n se benefician de una mejor higiene y buenas pr\u00e1cticas de alimentaci\u00f3n en el hogar, algo que aprendimos en nuestro Grupo de Atenci\u00f3n\", dice Aura. \"Estoy muy agradecida por lo que se ha hecho por mi familia\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Hoy, Anyeli y sus hermanas est\u00e1n alegres y sanas.
