La primera fue cuando la echaron de casa y su familia la repudi\u00f3 por quedarse embarazada. Luego tuvo que luchar como madre soltera, sin apenas encontrar trabajo para mantenerse a s\u00ed misma y a sus hijos.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\"Sent\u00ed que pod\u00eda haber perdido a mis hijos un par de veces\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sin un trabajo estable, Rita no pod\u00eda pagar el alquiler ni la hipoteca. Su peque\u00f1a familia se qued\u00f3 sin hogar, durmiendo en sof\u00e1s de amigos. Finalmente encontraron ayuda en un albergue, que les proporcion\u00f3 cierta estabilidad, un lugar seguro donde descansar y una comida fiable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-4\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Rita y su hijo mir\u00e1ndose\" class=\"img-fluid\" src=\"https:\/\/www.feedthechildren.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/rita-and-sebastian.jpg\"><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Una noche, Sebasti\u00e1n, el hijo de cuatro a\u00f1os de Rita, hizo una inocente confesi\u00f3n mientras estaban en el refugio.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\"Mami, dese\u00e9 en una estrella que podamos tener nuestro propio lugar\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sus palabras destrozaron a Rita. \"De hecho fui al ba\u00f1o y llor\u00e9. Me doli\u00f3 un poco porque no quer\u00eda que mis hijos pasaran por nada de eso\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A pesar del dolor, el deseo de Sebasti\u00e1n se hizo realidad. Dos semanas despu\u00e9s, Rita pudo conseguir un apartamento. Para Rita, la alegr\u00eda de tener su propia casa fue el primer rayo de esperanza en m\u00e1s de una d\u00e9cada.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\"Cuando me enter\u00e9 de que ten\u00eda mi propia casa fue como Navidad, Acci\u00f3n de Gracias, todas las fiestas, incluso mi cumplea\u00f1os en una\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"my-4\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Rita y su hijo en el columpio\" class=\"img-fluid\" src=\"https:\/\/www.feedthechildren.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/rita-at-the-swings.jpg\"><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Una vez resuelto el problema de la vivienda, Rita se centr\u00f3 en su siguiente obst\u00e1culo: no tener comida suficiente para ella y sus hijos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\"Mis hijos se lo comen todo\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Incluso con un sueldo, Rita sigue teniendo dificultades para conseguir todo lo que necesitan sus dos hijos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\"Un mes tengo suficiente y al siguiente no. As\u00ed que acudo a despensas de alimentos y lugares que realmente ayudan. As\u00ed es como comemos mis hijos y yo la mayor parte del tiempo\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Rita ha estado yendo a una organizaci\u00f3n local de Arkansas llamada LOVE: Healing Waters. Esta organizaci\u00f3n lleva a\u00f1os colaborando con Feed the Children.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\"Sientes que el mundo est\u00e1 un poco en tu contra, pero luego hay gente como Healing Waters que me ayud\u00f3 y me hizo sentir que existe gente buena ah\u00ed fuera\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de alimentos, Rita puede obtener productos de higiene, art\u00edculos de limpieza y otros enseres dom\u00e9sticos de LOVE: Healing Waters y Feed the Children.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\"Ayudan con los pa\u00f1uelos. Tienen los Pull-Ups para mi hijo. Tienen l\u00edquido lavavajillas y algunas cosillas como pasta de dientes y cosas as\u00ed, compresas y cosas as\u00ed\".&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Socios locales como LOVE: Healing Waters pueden ayudar a familias como la de Rita gracias a los donantes de Feed the Children. Su generosidad ayuda a llevar alimentos y otros art\u00edculos de primera necesidad a m\u00e1s de 700 socios comunitarios de todo el pa\u00eds, garantizando que la ayuda est\u00e9 disponible de inmediato.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Para Rita, contar con el apoyo y el cari\u00f1o de personas que se preocupan por ella y no tener que gastar todo su dinero en comida y art\u00edculos de primera necesidad para el hogar ha contribuido a que sus deseos se hagan realidad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\"Me dieron estabilidad para poder sentirme como: vale, lo tengo.
