Lineda vive con su abuela en Bele, una peque\u00f1a localidad de Saint Rock, en la secci\u00f3n comunal de Dufresney, en Hait\u00ed. Bele es un pueblo costero con una poblaci\u00f3n de unas 10 familias. La mayor\u00eda de los residentes se ganan la vida como vendedores ambulantes y propietarios de peque\u00f1os negocios.<\/p>\n

Antes de la llegada de Feed the Children a la comunidad de Bele, muchas familias ten\u00edan dificultades para enviar a sus hijos a la escuela. No hab\u00eda recursos suficientes para todos. Lineda nos cont\u00f3 que, tras el fallecimiento de su madre, su vida fue muy dura. Su abuela ten\u00eda que luchar cada d\u00eda para mantenerlos. De ni\u00f1a, Lineda quer\u00eda ayudar, pero poco pod\u00eda hacer.<\/p>\n

Gracias a los programas implementados en las escuelas, Feed the Children ha llevado alivio a los padres de Bele. Las escuelas cuentan ahora con estaciones para lavarse las manos y espacios dedicados a la cocina, lo que supone una gran ayuda para la comunidad. La preparaci\u00f3n y cocci\u00f3n higi\u00e9nica de los alimentos reduce el riesgo de enfermedades bacterianas. La abuela de Lineda trabaja como cocinera voluntaria en su escuela, y recibe una peque\u00f1a donaci\u00f3n monetaria mensual por su trabajo.<\/p>\n

En un pa\u00eds donde el 58% de la poblaci\u00f3n vive por debajo del umbral de la pobreza, Lineda est\u00e1 viendo la diferencia. Ahora que ha cumplido quince a\u00f1os, espera completar su educaci\u00f3n y montar un peque\u00f1o negocio como costurera. Lineda nos cont\u00f3 que las comidas que recibe en la escuela son una gran ayuda, y su abuela est\u00e1 contenta de tener un trabajo que apoya a la comunidad.
